The services at St Matthias are varied in both their content and style, some using the liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer ("BCP") or Common Worship ("CW") while others, particularly special services, embrace a wider source of material in both words and music, creating a one-off liturgy, with considerable congregational participation. The Edge is an informal service which aims to be thought provoking and to provide worship in a contemporary style. It takes place at 6.30 pm on the third Sunday of each month, other than August, in the Church with coffee being served after the service. Prayzone is an informal Service of Interactive Contemporary Worship and is held in the hall at 10.30 am on the fourth Sunday of each month. There is a strong emphasis on biblical preaching and teaching throughout the life of the Church.

Morning Prayer is said each weekday morning, other than on Wednesday, at 9.00 am in the Rose Price Room of the Church Centre. All are welcome to attend. |

| A crèche for children aged 0 - 5 years operates on the 1st & 3rd Sunday with Bible Stories & activities. On the 2nd Sunday, a crèche. On the 4th, an un-staffed playroom is open so that Parents may take children down during the 10.30 am service. Location: Downstairs Lounge. | |||||||||||||||

| Prayer ministry takes place in the St Francis Chapel immediately after each 10.30 am service and also during the communion of a 10.30 am Service of Holy Communion. | |||||||||||||||
| Coffee, tea and squash are served in the Peter Larkin Hall of the Church Centre after each 10.30 am service. | |||||||||||||||
| Facilities include large print service sheets and books, loop system for hearing aids, wheelchair access, toilet designed for wheelchair access and a wheelchair. | |||||||||||||||
| A Group for Young People in School years 10 to 13, known as MAD (Make a Difference), organize the Programme in The Edge Service. |
